Dear Student,

RE: TIMELY PAYMENT OF MONTHLY ACCOMMODATION FEES

You are hereby reminded that your rental payment for accommodation at Luhambo must be paid in advance, on or before the first day of each month, for the academic term being February to November.

A Student bed rate can be compared to a person renting an apartment. The individual receives the use of the premises and certain services in exchange for a rental payment.

Such rental agreement between two Parties (Landlord and Student) imposes certain rights and obligations on each party, mainly that the Landlord, as a Party, delivers exclusive use of a room and bed together with services such as laundry, transport, water, lights, wifi and security to the Student, the other Party, in return for a rental payment.

We are dissapointed to report that many of our Students have rental accounts in arrears which in effect means that the one Party, the LANDLORD, has honoured his commitments by providing the bed and services and the other Party, the Student, has not.

It is irrelevant whether you are a Self funded, Bursary, VC scholarship or NSFAS student; IT REMAINS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSURE THAT YOUR RENTAL PAYMENTS HAPPEN ON TIME, WITHOUT ANY DELAY WHATSOEVER. It might mean that you have to engage with your funder to make sure that funding and payments are in place.

It is not a secret that Luhambo is under financial strain due to the poor NSFAS rate. Receiving monthly payments late makes it more difficult to continue to provide the services that our Students have come accustomed to.

We have therefore no choice but to implement the following measures:

  • A STUDENT WILL BE DENIED ACCESS AT LUHAMBO GATES IF HIS/HER PAYMENTS ARE STILL IN ARREARS BY TUESDAY THE 22ND OF APRIL AT NOON (12:00)
  • A STUDENT WILL FURTHER BE DENIED ACCESS IF ANY OF HIS FUTURE RENTAL PAYMENTS ARE RECEIVED LATER THAN THE 5TH OF EACH MONTH. (THE MONIES MUST REFFLECT IN LUHAMBO BANK ACCOUNT).

We hope that such drastic measures will not be necessary and that this very important matter will not be one to place unwanted stress on all of us.

REGARDS, MANAGEMENT
