On Saturday 10 October 2026 we turned the Luhambo sports field and parking lot into one big playground for our residents. From 10:00 till late, students took on giant inflatable obstacle courses, raced each other in sacks, enjoyed food and drinks and spent the day together under clear Mpumalanga skies. It was a day built around one thing: giving our students a proper break and a chance to enjoy the community they live in.
What Happened on the Day
The parking lot was transformed before most residents were out of bed. By mid morning the inflatables were up and the music was playing.
Mega jumping castle and obstacle courses.
The main attraction was a set of long inflatable obstacle courses with tunnels, pillars, climbing walls and slides. Students lined up to race through them, and with the mountains around Nelspruit in the background, it made for some great photos.
Sack races.
A classic that never gets old. Residents paired up, stepped into their sacks and hopped their way down the track while friends cheered from the side.
Games room.
For anyone who needed a break from the sun, the games room was open with the pool table and foosball table getting plenty of use.
