Some of the most important conversations on a university campus aren't happening in lecture halls — they're happening in the corridors, common rooms and residences where students actually live.
This week, the UMP Mental Health Ambassadors brought exactly that energy to Luhambo Students. They spread safe sex awareness, shared educational resources, and created a safe space for honest, judgment-free conversations about sexual health and overall wellbeing.
What made this visit even more special is that some of our own Luhambo residents are part of the Mental Health Ambassadors initiative — leading from within and showing the rest of campus what student-driven change looks like.
University is exciting but it can also be overwhelming. Programs like this one normalise open conversations about mental and sexual health, put accurate information into students' hands, and reduce the stigma that stops people from asking for help.
A huge thank you to the UMP Mental Health Ambassadors and to every Luhambo resident who got involved. This is what student life with purpose looks like. 💛
